Jug bands were playing jazz and blues long before the music was recognized and labelled as such. Two of the most popular and well recorded jug bands in the 1920s were Cannon’s Jug Stompers and The Memphis Jug Band. This lesson teaches arrangements of five of their songs for fingerstyle guitar, plus the wonderful “Shine On Harvest Moon” which fits perfectly into the jug band tradition.
