We’re big fans of Benson Amps here at the shop, and that extends into their newer pedal offerings as well. The Benson Preamp is a killer overdrive pedal at its core, but is capable of much more. Built on the foundation of their flagship 30 watt amplifier the Chimera, thePreamp pedal offers up similar control and versatility in a pedalboard-friendly format. Here’s what Benson has to say about it…

We call this our Preamp because it is! The circuit is based on the our Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes. The result is an extremely amp-like and versatile clean boost/overdrive/fuzz pedal that imparts rich harmonics and a very musical EQ to your signal chaintruly a Chimera in a box!

Power requirements: 9VDC Boss style adapter or battery 50ma

Controls: Gain, Volume, Treble, Bass.
